Freight management
For importers buying EXW from Turkish factories, BuyerSide arranges collection at the factory gate, Turkish export customs clearance, sea, road or air carriage and delivery to the destination door. Freight is executed through an established Türkiye-lane freight forwarder disclosed to you as a related party, and quoted per shipment.
The EXW trap
Buying EXW looks like the cheapest term on the quotation because the factory has stripped every cost out of it. What it actually means is that from the moment the goods sit on the factory floor, every problem is yours: the truck, the export file, the port, the paperwork, and the phone calls in Turkish at 17:00 on a Friday.
Many buyers accept EXW because the unit price looked better, then pay a local agent an unquantified amount to fix it. We would rather quote the number.
What we handle
- Collection at the factory gate, including the truck booking the factory will otherwise "arrange" at a price you never see
- Turkish export customs clearance and the export declaration
- Sea (FCL and LCL), road and air, priced against your actual volumes
- Certificates and documents — ATR, EUR.1, certificate of origin, packing list and invoice consistency
- Destination delivery, customs coordination and door delivery through partner agents
- One documented file per shipment, so a claim is provable
A disclosure, made in advance
Freight is executed through a freight forwarder that the founder of BuyerSide also works for. This is a related-party relationship and we tell you before you engage, not after. You are free to use your own forwarder — inspection clients frequently do — and doing so changes nothing about our inspection scope, price or verdict.
Why it matters that the same office does both
When an inspection fails on Wednesday and the vessel closes on Friday, the useful question is not "what does the report say" but "can we still make it". Answering that requires knowing the rework time, the truck schedule, the cut-off and the next sailing at once.
Split those across a global inspection firm, a Turkish agent and a forwarder in your own country and you will get three accurate answers and no decision.
Frequently asked questions
Do we have to use your freight if you inspect for us?
No, and there is no price difference either way. Bundling them is a convenience, not a condition.
Which lanes do you cover?
Türkiye to Europe (road and sea), the United Kingdom, the Gulf states, North and South America. Iran and Central Asia lanes are covered through the forwarder's specialist desk.
How is freight priced?
Per shipment, against your actual volumes and the current market. We show the carrier cost and our margin separately if you ask, which most forwarders will not do.
